For the third consecutive year, Central Texas will represent the Southwest region in the Little League World Series. This year, it’s the Centex Junior All-Stars who have earned the honor, showcasing resilience and tenacity in a thrilling regional final against the Sinton Junior All-Stars representing East Texas.
The stage was set in the bottom of the 7th inning. The Centex Junior All-Stars found themselves trailing by two runs, staring down the barrel of defeat. Yet, as true champions often do, they refused to buckle under pressure. With a relentless spirit, they clawed their way back to tie the game at 7-7, pushing the contest into extra innings.
The bottom of the 8th inning unfolded like a scene from a Hollywood script. With one out and the score still deadlocked, the tension in the air was palpable. On an 0-2 pitch, Adara Lewis stepped up to the plate and delivered a performance that will be etched in Central Texas sports lore for years to come. She singled up the middle splitting the infielders, Beya Martinez, who was stationed at second base, took off like a rocket.
