A Daddy Day Softball Tournament All Weekend Long in Central Texas.

It was a Daddy Day all weekend long in Central Texas, as 18U Fast-pitch Softball Teams sponsored by Maggie’s Tournaments, converged on Lion’s Park to take part in the “Play’In For Dad’s Day” double elimination softball tournament.
Teams from all over Central Texas met at the A. J. Mercer Complex in Temple to put their brand of softball to the test in pool play early Saturday and Playoff Bracket late Saturday into Sunday.
The competition was fierce in bracket play, and that was evidenced by multiple games being won by a single run. For example, the Firecrackers CTX team was eliminated by One Team Fastpitch with the final score of 1-0.
CoreSpeed Fastpitch (Liberty Hill) handed GRIT Fastpitch (Rockdale) their first loss by the score of 6-3. TX D9 (Chilton) redeemed themselves against the Firecrackers CTX – DeMascio (Round Rock) 10-8. During pool play , the Firecrackers played well and took the win from the TX D9. However, during the playoffs, Chance Bacon’s TX D9 took the win and moved forward into the semifinals.
Texas Bombers CTX – McCall (Cameron) was defeated by CoreSpeed Fastpitch in their first bracket game 5-0. In their next game, they proved worthy by handing the Bombers CTX 14U Young (Austin) their second loss sending them back home. In their third bracket game, the Texas Bombers CTX – McCall succumbed to One Team Fastpitch(Temple) in a close game 3-2.

Ecstasy Lewis proved vital behind the plate to fortify the Tx D9 tournament win 
Cadence Wiese (Firecrackers CTX) had a hot bat the whole weekend hitting multiple home runs and making opposing pitchers pay.
TX D9 gave CoreSpeed their first loss of the day by a score of 7-6 setting up a rematch in semifinals between CoreSpeed and GRIT Fastpitch. CoreSpeed proved too much for GRIT Fastpitch for a second time in Bracket play by winning with a score of 5-3. This moved them on to the final championship game against the undefeated TX D9.
Father’s Day weekend wrapped up with the TX D9 defeating CoreSpeed Fastpitch 7-6. TX D9 walked away the tournament champions.
