Cameron Lady Yoe Come Together and Win Summer Tournament.

Cameron and Caldwell Take One and Two in Cameron Summer League
CAMERON, Texas 06/29/2021
With hints of rain in the air and previous downpours during the afternoon, softball players and families alike swarmed into Cameron, Texas to take part in the Cameron Summer League High School Softball Tournament.
High Schools from Temple, Franklin, Caldwell, and Cameron took part to put on a show for the crowd.
In game one, we saw Caldwell destroy the TemCats from Temple by a score of 15-5.
Franklin came in short-handed with eight players to compete against Cameron in their first bracket game. With their arrival came what seemed like unbelievable flying reports that the 2nd baseman was a 5th grader by the name of Kaysie Poulson.
This young lady (Kaysie Poulson), though short in stature, played with so much heart and fortitude that it could not be measured or contained on such a small field. Once at bat she tried to lay down a bunt that went foul on the first pitch. She swung too early on the second pitch, made contact, and the ball went foul. On the third pitch, she swung away on a high fastball, and then struck out. The fact that this young lady made contact two times on a high school pitcher was worth the price of admission. Unfortunately, the effort fell short for the Franklin Lady Lions, and they went home early.

In the main event of the evening we watched the Caldwell Lady Hornets go up against the Lady Yoe from Cameron. The 2-2 tie coming out of the middle of the second inning was blown open in favor of the Lady Yoe. The bats got hot for Cameron, and Caldwell could not find the groove they had against Temple. The game was called by mercy rule, 14-4, and the Cameron Lady Yoe walked off victors.
