BELTON, Texas

It was a sunny day without the threat of rain this past Wednesday (June 30th) when the young Rogers Wolfpack (Former 8u Coach Pitch State Champions 2018) took on an older more experienced Belton Angels. Though a day earlier than the final games for the District Championship, this would be a glimpse into the Final that would decide that fate the very next day.

The Belton Angels got out to an early lead and showed that they had some raw power that could not be matched. Size and age difference was notable between the two teams, and the Belton Angels came out on top outscoring the younger Rogers Wolfpack 11-4.

Though the Wolfpack could not muster sizable runs, there were several bright spots that will prove significant in years to come. Branson Charanza and Kash Stephens both went yard to score runs for the Pack and that was notable since they were shy, by one run, matching all the runs put up on the Belton Angels the previous games combined by other teams.

In the final on Thursday July 1st, it was all Belton Angels. They sent the Wolfpack back to Rogers in 2nd place by the score of 11-0.

Of note, it was announced that the rules had been changed by TTA and that two teams from the District would move on to State play. Representing this district will be the Belton Angels and the Rogers Wolfpack in Franklin and it is more than likely these two teams will meet again.

Given the talent on both of these teams. The Angels are the here and now, but the Wolfpack will be the future going forward. The State Championship will go through this district for years to come.
