Against All Odds, Academy Shows Out in Little League District Coach Pitch Tournament.

The Ladies From Academy Rule District Tournament and Come Away Champs
06/09/2023
LORENA, Tx
After going 3-6 in regular season these young ladies from Academy did not let their record get in the way of their destiny.
Truth be told, at the beginning of the year they were not a unified team and still lacked polish. Through hard work, determination, coaching, an indoor practice facility, and help from Camwood Bats, they were able to put it all together in time for districts.

It’s almost unfathomable to understand how they could have become such a cohesive group so quickly, but it is clearly possible.
The coaches and parents of these young ladies really made the difference and came together to form a support group that would make older teams envious. There is a lot to be said about everyone buying into the system, but when it happens the after effect is a thing of beauty.
The level of communication that these young ladies presented with on the field with other teammates in the final game, and there ability to listen to coaches during the middle of a play was unparalleled.
In the early going of the district tournament the Ladies from Academy played the 1 seed from Lorena and took the win 10-9.
in Round two they took on the one seed Robinson and shut them out 6 to 0.
Academy played the 1 seed Lake Air in round three and beat them 9 to 3.
On June 7th they played Centex Little League rival Jarrell Lady Cougars and came away with the Win 14 to 3.
In the final, the girls took on Lake Air once again and came away victorious 12-6 and walked away with the Lady Coach Pitch District Title.
