It was an early game today at the Midway Little League Fields between the Midway Junior All-Stars (Molina) and the Centex Junior All-Stars. This is a best two out of three for District Champion and a chance to move on to the next round.

The Wind was at play and definitely took it’s toll.

Midway batted first and scored a run. When Centex came up to bat in the bottom of the first, they tied it up on a Ty Dawson Fly/w fielder error to third base, that scored Tywon Walker.

In their next at bat Midway put up a goose egg, and Centex put up runs like they have all tournament long. 4 to be exact in the bottom of the second making the score 5 to 1.

In the top of the third Midway answered with one run, but Centex countered with 4 more to round out the inning making the score 9-2.

In the 4th inning Midway grabbed a run and held Centex to 0 for the first time in the game. Which made the score 9-3 in favor of Centex.

In the last two innings Midway could not get anything going and they also could not prevent Centex from scoring 2 runs each inning making the final tally 13-3 in favor of the Centex Junior All-Stars.

Frankie Gonzales pitched 4+ innings gave up 2 hits and 3 earned runs with 6 strike outs.

Ryder Castro came in threw 19 pitches and had 2 strikeouts

Tywon Walker finished the game off on the mound for Centex giving up no hits.

Both teams return tomorrow at 2 pm for game 2.

It’s time for the 254 All-Star Time Hop. Does anyone recognize the young men in the photos below?
