Cameron Softball Tournament Dictated by Wet Winter Weather
02/25/2021 CAMERON, Tx
Though it was cold and rainy, local area softball was still played this past week. With temperatures hovering just below freezing and the threat of potential winter precipitation, the show (regardless of significant rescheduling) still went on in abbreviated fashion this past Friday in Cameron. We saw teams from Franklin, Bremond, and Somerville come to Cameron to play.
In game one, Cameron proved too much for Somerville from the get go. In a rough one hour timed game, with three innings, the Lady Yoe bats were hot scoring 10 runs in the 1st including 2 run homer by Lady Yoe catcher Brooklyn McCall.
In the last two innings Cameron added six more runs to Somervilles 3 final score was 16-3.
In the next game Franklin took on Somerville and the results were similar in score in favor of Franklin. Franklin looked very polished.
Later that day Cameron played against Bremond. The first inning ended in a 2-2 tie. The second inning was scoreless for both teams. In the third the Lady Yoe put up 2 runs and the Bremond Lady Tigers answered with five runs and walked away with the W by the score of 7-4.
