Yesterday the Central Texas D9 All-Stars took on East Brownsville in Abilene for a chance to move into the winners bracket today.
With daily temperatures anywhere from 105-112 all you can hope for is that your team can play hot to match the temperature. This Texas D9 team played White Hot against this East Brownsville team out of the gate and basically smashed all hopes of winning for their opponent halfway through the first inning by scoring 6 runs.
Christy McGuire (From Academy) played stingy in the pitchers circle giving up 1 run the entire game on a home run in the bottom of the first.
D9 Bats were really hot too led by catcher Jayden Sadler who went 2 for 4 with 1 home run and 5 Ribbies. Short Stop Ky-Li Alonzo went 2-2 with with a home run and 2 RBI’s. Christy McGuire also made up for the home run she gave up on the pitchers mound by going yard late in the game as well.
The game was ended by run rule after the 5th inning by a score of 15-1.
Today the D9 All-Stars look to stay hot when they play against Del Rio tonight at 8pm (game is under rain delay)
