You could not ask for a more complete game from this Central Texas Senior All-Star group in the regional finals. They beat New Mexico by the score of 13-0 and advance to play in Delaware at the Little League World Series in early August.
Offensively the Bats were pretty hot and started out early when lead off Player Ky-Li Alonzo (Rogers ISD),who ended up with three RBI’s in the day, hit a longball over left center field to score the only run of the first inning for D9.
Catcher Jayden Sadler (Midway ISD) aimed for the Flag Pole and sent a 1-2 pitch over center field for D9’s second solo homer on the day in inning 2.
Pitcher Izzy Garcia (Troy ISD) also aimed for the flag pole in the top of the 4th sending the teams 3rd ball over the right left center field wall scoring catcher Kiara Walker (Rosbud Lott ISD) who was on first. Izzy had 2 RBI’s on the day.
Ava Hrabal (Rosebud-Lot ISD) who has been Miss Consistency in regionals went 2 for 2 with 2 RBI’s.
Pitching wise for the Centex D9 All-Stars, it was all Izzy Garcia (Troy ISD). She went full force against the ladies from New Mexico giving up 1 hit late and recording 6 Strikeouts on the day.
Prior to Regionals, I caught up with Coach Bacon and he said that he has never coached a group of young ladies who were so focused on the team vision so early. They all seem to share that “it’s time to go to work” mentality, and its definitely evident on the field.
We pray and wish these young athletes safe travels as they continue their 254 representation on the World Level.
Southwest (aka Centex D9 All-Stars) will take on Latin America Monday August 1st in Lower Sussex, DE at 7pm CST on ESPN+
