Little League World Champion Softball Teamates Collide as District Foes in Troy Texas Last Night

In the first 254 3A District matchup the Troy Trojanettes played host to the Rogers Lady Eagles in what turned out to be a close game between two very talented teams.
Going into the game one could speculate that the competion would be tight considering both teams had Little League World Championship players who battled teams from all over the world this past summer and came home World Champions.
In rivalry fashion these teams did not disapoint and in the end came down to the final out.
The game went scoreless in the first two innings thanks to good pitching from both Izzy Garcia from Troy and Nicole Mucha of Rogers.
In the bottom of the third the Trojanettes scored first on a ground ball from Lily Garcia which scored Shelby Eddlemon to make the score 1-0 for the Trojanettes.
In the top of the 4th the Rogers Lady Eagles brought home Cruzita Avila and Nicole Mucha off of the bats of Rian Charanza and Cheyenne Montalbo, making the score 2-1 in favor of Rogers.
In the Top of the fifth Rogers added one more run when Rian Charanza was hit by a pitch scoring Ky-Li Alonzo making the score 3-1.
The Trojanetts answered by scoring a run in the bottom of the 5th off a Double by Lily Garcia, scoring Shelby Eddlemon making the score 3-2.
The sixth inning went scoreless for both Nicole Mucha and Izzy Garcia.
The top of the 7th saw another run scored by Rogers off a double by Rian Charanza scoring Freshman Kyra Yates which made the score 4-2 in favor of the Rogers Lady Eagles.
Not giving up, the Trojanettes made a last stand when Kylee Farmer singled off Nichole Mucha. Miss Mucha then walked Kylee Goad advancing Farmer to second.
Shelby Eddlemon dropped a bunt on the first base line that was almost unplayable and advanced both Farmer and Goad.
Nicole Mucha went on to strike out Melanie Zapata to record the second out of the inning.
In the final out of the game Lily Garcia grounded out to third baseman Rian Charanza.
Nichole Mucha pitched 7 innings threw 123 pitches, and struck out 8 for Rogers.
